i have always had a unique fascination with the elderly -- the way their faces hold history in every crease, every wrinkle and fold. whenever i stumble upon a picture of a grandparent, there is always a strong desire within to capture the essence of time hidden within their faces through the delicate strokes of a brush. to me, wrinkles are not just lines; they are chasms packed with perseverance, wisdom, emotion, and treasury. "uncle john" incorporates the grace of aging in each unfinished brush stroke.
