while traveling on the sunbaked roads of india, i encountered "mavsi" -- meaning auntie in marathi -- an old women selling fresh strawberries on the roadside. though we both spoke different languages and couldn't understand each other, mavsi's radiant smile spoke all that had to be said, speaking a universal language of warmth, happiness, and humanity. this painting is a tribute to the beauty of unspoken words and smiles that remind us of our collective human experiences.
